DL LABS has been
providing services to the coatings, caulks, sealants and waterproofing
industries for over 70 years. The organization was established to meet the
industries' need for a competent, unbiased, independent laboratory that could
provide relevant, meaningful and reliable information on the use and
performance of finished products as well as their raw materials.
DL is accredited by the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Voluntary
Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP - Lab Code 100252-0) in the fields of
Paints and Related Coatings and Materials as well as Building Seals and
Sealants.
In addition to providing technical assistance to our client base, DL also
provides legal and expert assistance in cases of product liability.
Our staff of qualified and experienced technical personnel provides
studies on products intended for use in coatings, caulks, sealants and
waterproofing, both from a raw material and finished product perspective.
Members of the DL LABS staff participate actively in professional
organizations related to the industries that we serve, including the
Federation of Societies For Coatings Technology (FSCT) and the American
Society For Testing and Materials (ASTM). Our personnel maintain active
involvement in the development of the test procedures that regularly are
adopted as national standards.
DL LABS, as well as some of its staff, have been recognized by these
organizations for contributions to the scientific and technical advancement
of the industry.
Background
The DL LABS is fully equipped and is accredited by the U.S. National Institute
of Standards and Technology to test paints as well as sealants and caulks. DL
LABS has a unique combination of practical experience and application
orientation which is effective in the evaluation of the performance of
coatings, coating systems, and raw materials as well as coating failures.
Experience
The experience of DL LABS includes work for many agencies of Government, many
industry associations, as well as a variety of segments of private industry
including manufacturers and raw material suppliers. It also includes
extensive experience with caulks and sealants, as well as waterproofing
materials, thermosetting and reinforced plastics and allied products. In
addition, DL LABS has conducted numerous inspections and surveys on a
spectrum of products and techniques as well as providing assistance to
attorneys in legal matters.
